If you spent any amount of time in the city of Salzburg, you will probably be aware of its connection the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. There is no doubt that Mozart is the city’s most famous son, they even have a statue of him in one of the city squares named after him – Mozartplatz. You can probably argue that it is precisely because of Mozart that the city of Salzburg has become synonymous with music. Although Salzburg might have become a UNESCO World Heritage site regardless of the presence of Mozart, the fact that he was born here probably helps the case for it even more.
I was back in the city center to visit one of the more well known landmarks in the city. As you might have guessed, it has something to do with Mozart, specifically his birth place. His birth place has been turned into a music for all the world to see. I wanted to go there a little earlier since I expect that the place would not be that large and there would be more people visiting the place. So to avoid any queues that might happen, I needed to go there earlier. Sure enough, there were already people waiting to go in the place but it isn’t crazy yet. I managed to purchase tickets easily and I was on my way. The house is just part of an apartment block in the city center. I think it is also nice to get an idea of how ordinary people would have lived during the time of Mozart.
