By the time I was done with the Innsbruck Cathedral it was already dark. I thought I did a lot today. Just a few hours ago, I was on top of the nearby mountains and now I have visited the Imperial palace as well as the Innsbruck Cathedral. I thought the day really went well. It was then time for dinner. As you can see, I would try to eat the local food whenever I get a chance. It is a little difficult to do that here in Innsbruck because it seems to be quite pricey even if it is local food. I know it costs money to serve food but you’d think competition would have kept the prices low considering this is food that you should be able to easily find.
I ended up going back to the old town area where I thought I would have a better chance of finding a place to eat. I thought of just going to the Christmas market but decided that I should go for a restaurant since this would be my last night in Innsbruck. I ended up at the Restaurant Goldener Adler Innsbruck, this is named after the nearby Golden Roof which the city is known for. The restaurant itself is set up in a more than six hundred year old building, so you can really feel the history here when you go in.
As what I expected, the food in this region is quite simple so I decided to pick something a little different. Fried chicken! I don’t know what is different from their fried chicken here but I honestly didn’t see any. It is admittedly better than fast food but I don’t think there were anything special which would make me remember how it tastes. I was given several pieces of chicken which I gobbled up very quickly, I won’t say no to fried chicken. I wasn’t in any hurry to leave and I was just enjoying the ambience of the restaurant. They also have a hotel here but I don’t think it would be as affordable as where I was currently staying. This is in the middle of the old town and no doubt that it would demand a high price if only for its location.
