The old town of Innsbruck comes even more alive at night. The old town was already very busy when I visited that afternoon but it seems to be even busier when I came back after the sun went down. I went up the Town Tower of Innsbruck to get a different perspective of the city and I was very impressed. It is not very often that you can get a great view of the old city from a high vantage point. By the time I got back down, it was already rush hour and the place was packed. The Christmas markets were very busy with people but before I do that I think I need to go for dinner first.
The Goldenes Dachl was very bright with the spotlights on it, truly highlighting the significance of this structure. I still felt it was a little strange to have just the window as the important structure in the old town but I think the Goldenes Dachl is special not only because of the history associated with it but also with the design of this Golden Roof. I know that this is Europe but it doesn’t seem like shops will be closing anytime soon. I don’t think I will be going around much here apart from the Christmas markets but I think it would be also nice to do a little window shopping while I’m at it.
