The Town Tower in Innsbruck is probably one of the best places to observe the old town of Innsbruck. This is especially true at night. The Town Tower is probably the tallest structure in the old town and it just so happens that it has a front row seat to the town square. At the time of my visit, there was a Christmas market and it was certainly very lively there. By this time, the sun had already gone down and there was just barely light in the sky, but the city below me has come alive with lights. This is precisely the reason why I decided to go up the Town Tower when the sun was going down.
It wasn’t only the old town square that can be seen here, but also the rest of the city. The city is flat for the most part, that is if ignore that mountains in the north. You can see that the rest of the city has also started to light up. I know that I didn’t bring my tripod with me, so I can only hand hold my camera and hope the pictures turn out okay. Another issue here is that there are multiple spotlights focused on the town tower itself. This means the camera can be looking directly at these spotlights, ruining the photo. It was hard to avoid these spotlights since there are several of them. Even these photos already have a lot of stray light messing up the photo.
