Above the Christmas Market at Innsbruck Old Town

The old town of Innsbruck is one of the liveliest parts of the city. The old town isn’t that big and can be easily explored in minutes. However, this is small space is packed with establishments and it is no surprise then, that there are so many people here. This more especially so since there is a Christmas market here. I noticed that the larger cities would have multiple sites for Christmas markets to spread the people out. It will be a big pain if everyone in the city would all go to the same location. Not only would the travel be horrendous, but there won’t be enough space for everyone.

The Christmas market here in the old town is one of several that I have seen in the city so far and I just got here. I suspect there are more that I wasn’t aware about. However, I went to the one which I think is the main Christmas Market. There is a square inside the old town which looks like the original town square. It is surrounded by buildings but it still seems to be the perfect place to put the Christmas market. I walked around and eventually found a stall which happens to have a flight of stairs to go up to the top. It was a stall selling drinks and I would like to think that the second level on top of the stall is meant to keep the people away from the streets while they are drinking. After all, there isn’t a lot of space here, the second level make it the perfect place to keep them out of trouble.
