Inside the Train to Innsbruck

Two hours before this, I was still in the village of Hallstatt in Austria. Now, I am in the city of Salzburg to get on a train to the city of Innsbruck where I will be staying for a couple of days. The name Innsbruck only sounds vaguely familiar, but I don’t know anything about the place. A friend of mine happened to mention this city and I just thought I should pay it a visit. There are regular trains from Salzburg to Innsbruck. This area is quite mountainous so I imagine the way would be quite scenic. Actually, the way turned out to be me quite flat.

The route to Innsbruck from Salzburg actually passes through Germany before finally making its way to Innsbruck. While, I can see mountains in the distance, it was not the train winding its way through the mountains kind of trip that I had in mind. Basically, it was boring. The train I took had a quiet section and this is where I sat. I thought I was making too much noise when I was eating my snacks but fortunately, no one told me off. I tried to get comfortable by watching the countryside but it didn’t get interesting until we were almost at Innsbruck. There were only a handful of stops and the train wasn’t as packed as I thought it would be. Hopefully, this isn’t a bad sign.
