Viewing Platform at Salzwelten Hallstatt

I was finally done visiting the salt mine at Salzwelten Hallstatt. The salt mine is probably the single most important place here. Now, I can spend the rest of the time as I want. It was just approaching noon when I finished the tour of the salt mine and there are visibly more people here compared to earlier in the morning. I was glad that I actually came up here as soon as I can since there could potentially be a lot of people up here. While the top is still not overflowing with people there are visibly more of them now. There is a long bridge which allows easier access to the viewpoint without needing to go down and back up.

There were some people doing some kind of wedding photoshoot. This is not the first time I have seen one here and I am sure it won’t be the last. Most of the people here would be making a beeline to the viewing platform at the end of the path. It is right beside the cafe here and it faces the Hallstatter See. There is a platform that sticks out over the valley below. It isn’t a massive platform but it is enough to fit tens of people here. There was initially a mess of people trying to take photos at the platform but eventually a line formed and it became much easier to take photos. It was hard when people would just squeeze themselves into whatever space they can find just to take the beloved selfie. I think people felt sad for me when I was taking a photo of an empty spot and someone finally offered to take a photo of me. Selfie or not, this is one of the best places to take photos in Hallstatt. Its just that they just have a plain viewing platform and not feel the need to add those pick-axes.
