Rock Formations at Antelope Pass
It was afternoon when I set out for Page in Arizona. That is my base for these few days and I would be visiting a few places nearby which is why I thought it would make sense to stay here. Additionally, accommodation was also affordable there. I drove back the same way I came through earlier. It is annoying to know that the drive would be much quicker if the road was just a straight line from Page, however because of the local topography, it is impossible to built a straight road here. They built a road which had to go around wide gorges just to be able to cross the Colorado River.
Red Sandstone Against the Blue Sky at Antelope Pass
The setting sun was giving a gorgeous light show here and I keep stopping every now and then to take photos. My final stop was back at Antelope Pass, which I knew was already at Page. I know that I had to climb the mountain to get back to Page, but it is just a roundabout way to doing it. Earlier in the day, the sun was right behind the mountains at the pass, but this time, the lighting is so much better. The red sandstone contrasts so beautifully with the clear blue sky. I know the colors can get even better but I don’t want to be driving in the dark here.
