Going to the Grand Canyon North Rim Viewing Area

Going to the Viewing Deck at the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim

I was very pleased that the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim was open to non-residents. I was under the impression that it would not be open to the public but it was. This way visitors can get to see this historic hotel built seemingly in the middle of nowhere. This nowhere is actually one of the most amazing views in the world and I think it is worth building a hotel for that. There were people who were here to eat at the restaurant but I didn’t have time for that so I was just having a look around. I saw that there is a deck which has seats where people can sit back and just admire the view.

It turns out that this wasn’t the only viewing area here. In fact, the view from the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim is a little obscured by plant life. There is a path to the right of the viewing area which visitors can take to get a better view. The steps seems to be fine but I don’t know how they would be during the winter months. I understand that the road to the North Rim is normally closed so I don’t expect there to be an issue here. I was glad that there aren’t that many people here in the first place. Sure there were a lot at the hotel area but they seem to be concentrated there and not too many actually make it to the other viewing areas.
