Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

As I was visiting the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Vrigin Mary at the village of Timoleague, there was an emergency vehicle parked outside the church so I couldn’t really take photos. It seems that there was an incident at the church and there was someone in need of help. I thought it was very serious but the person was able to go home with a companion so I was hoping that it was okay. The people manning the emergency vehicle took their time to leave as well, even taking photos of the church before finally leaving. Obviously people here also think that the church looks fabulous. It may be not that old but it still exudes that old world charm because of it’s classical design.

I originally thought that the circular tower marks the front of the church. I guess, you can’t blame me since, this was the structure most people see when the look up the flight of stairs below. However, this is just the side of the church. The main entrance looks even better with the archways which are typical of Romanesque churches. It is not fully Romanesque as it also incorporated other designs. It was a bit difficult to get a full photo of the church since there was only so far I can go back. Fortunately, the entire church fits my wide angle lens without including other stuff. Although the church wasn’t as old as I thought it would be, I thought it was still worth a visit considering how pretty this one is.
