The museum of Andalusian Music was an interesting place. Although I didn’t find the musical instruments that interesting, the rest of the exhibits were actually interesting. The feature artifacts from the Sahara which give you an idea how people lived back then. I was about to leave the museum when I noticed that there was a flight of stairs which leads up. There didn’t seem to be a second floor in the museum so I wondered where that would lead to. There staircase didn’t seem to be off limits so I just walked right up. And I was glad that I did.

The stairs leads to the roof deck where you can see expansive views of the medina of Fès. It was good the the buildings here in Fès tend to have the same height or you won’t be able to see anything. What’s more is that the buildings that do go higher are usually the minarets of mosques. From here I can see several mosques. No wonder you can hear the calls to prayer from just about everywhere in the medina. Looking at this, I was happy that today turned out to be such a good day. This was compared to the miserable few days where I was in Chefchaoen. I just hope this keeps up until the end of my trip.
