I managed to land a spot in the ferry heading back to Burtonport. I intended to leave Aranmore Island later in the day but I finished sooner. Fortunately, there was just enough room on the ferry for my car. It was a very tight squeeze and made even more difficult because you were reversing up into the ferry. No vehicles were scratched here just make sure the handbrake is engaged. The ride back to Burtonport was uneventful. I was tired from all that exploring that I didn’t get to enjoy the view from the ferry.
When I disembarked from the ferry, I thought that I should just have an early dinner here. I have been here for food before at a place called Lobster Pot. It was difficult to miss with the gigantic lobster figure outside the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, it is more like an Irish pub which is nice and cozy. The owner of the restaurant is American who married a local woman. They have seafood dishes here and the last time I was here I had their signature dish which is the Titanic. As the name implies, it is a huge platter of seafood. The only thing I didn’t like about it is that it was a cold dish. This time, I don’t have anyone else to help me eat a huge platter of seafood. So I went of plain old fish and chips. There were other tourists here, most of them came from the same ferry that I took.
