It was already dark in Lyon and it was after dinner. I don’t have plans for the rest of the night. I had a look at the city and I looked like Lyon seems to be a pretty city. Sure it was crowded with buildings but it didn’t feel stifling like it did in Paris. Besides, it felt safer to walk here at night. A lot of the buildings here were lit and it made for a pleasant stroll at night. What is nice was that it wasn’t that cold even though it was late December. I had this impression that Europe would be cold during winter but this was a surprise. It could be climate change but who knows.
I kept walking until I hit a sizable square which seemed to be quite important. This was the Places Des Terreaux. It was surrounding on four sides by beautiful buildings that most important one is probably City Hall. As you might expect, the building was lit up at night. Buildings like this are plentiful in Lyon and it is a pleasure to take photos here. The square is naturally pedestrian only, which makes people come out here to hang out or just take photos of the nearby buildings. I looked at the map of Lyon and it seemed to be a rather large city. It is the second largest in France and I don’t have plans to totally explore this city on foot. I would probably pick a few spots here and there and call it a day.
