I went through the basilica and the monastery at Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. While the basilica itself is impressive, the monastery didn’t leave much of an impression on me. To properly visit the calvary, you have to follow the signs along the way. There seem to be a few paths a red and blue one. The red path is the path of Jesus, while the blue one would be the Blessed Virgin Mary’s path. They seem to go different directions, so it is best to have your own transportation here. There seems to be a small hill beside the basilica and there seemed to be a point of interest here.

I wasn’t really prepared to be hiking here but the cold air made it a little easier to hike. Still the hill took some time for me to climb. There wasn’t a fixed path here and there were leaves all over the place since it was autumn. I was worried that I might slip and no would even know what happened to me. Thankfully, I made it to the top of the hill. There was a small chapel here but it seemed to be described as a Church of the Crucifixion. The door of the chapel wasn’t open. So I didn’t know what it was. I think the calvary is made up of a lot of these places which pilgrims would visit on holy days. I don’t think this would be a day I would be exploring the entire place.
