It seems that we are done with our tour of south western Donegal, and we were headed back home. We decided to take the scenic route back home. Along the way, we passed through the village of Glencolmcille. I don’t know much about this place but I do have a colleague who lives here. There seems to be a folk park here. Folk parks here tend to be small villages which traditional houses. I have been to a few of them so I think I wasn’t interested to see another one anymore. The folk park, however, is right beside a beach which is of course very picturesque.
These kinds of places seem to be a dime a dozen here in Ireland. One just probably needs to follow the coast and they will inevitably run into one very quickly. The beach here isn’t as pretty as the one we just came from in Malin Beg. Each place has its own character which makes it worth to visit. I like the accessibility of the place since it is less than an hour’s drive away from where I stay. Even if the weather wasn’t cooperating, it is easy enough to come back to.
