High Ceiling of the Louvre Museum in Paris
I was still amazed at the size of the Louvre Museum. This museum in Paris is one of the largest museums in the world and to properly visit this place, you need to allocate one full day. We were foolish enough to think we could visit this place in a few hours. Then again, breaking the visit into different visits might not be a bad idea after all. Looking at paintings over and over again will get to you. You are probably not doing it any justice if you are not in a correct state of mind, that is, tired and sick of seeing paintings after seeing the first thousand. Granted that you might be able to get away with seeing only the “important” parts of the museum, it is still best done at a reasonable pace, preferably slowly.

Of course you will be sharing the museum with thousands of other museum goers, thankfully, not all of them will be in the same place. Although you would have to expect some congestion at the more important parts. The famous works of art here in the Louvre are already sign posted on the walls of the museum. If you want to see the Mona Lisa just follow the photo, if you are interested in Venus de Milo, just follow that poster, interested in Egyptian art, just follow the photo. The museum was so large that we ended up following the photos instead. We didn’t really have a map with us, I guess we could have planned this better. So choose your track and off you go.
