Tarragona is a surprisingly interesting place. We were randomly walking about when we ran into this nice little square. I’m sure it wasn’t a very famous place but it was still nice to hang around for an hour or two. The square though had a government building on one end so I guess that counts for something. We continued on our exploration of Tarragona. It feels more pleasant to be exploring this city instead of Barcelona which was overrun with tourists. Don’t get me wrong, Barcelona is a very nice city and I would love to stay there for a few days but the tourist spots there are very crowded.
This makes Tarragona a very attractive place to visit. It is only an hour’s train ride away and it is very convenient to get to. There are a lot of places to see here and we are going to one of the more prominent places in the city. The Cathedral of Tarragona is probably one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city. There is hardly any Spanish city without its own cathedral and Tarragona is no exception. We were randomly walking along the streets of Tarragona when we stumbled into a rather busy area of the city. For some reason there were a lot of vendors here, then I realized that this was where the cathedral was. It is not surprising that vendors would set up shop here since there will always be a lot of people here.
