I was delighted with the medieval town feel of Donegal town. At least the part where the Donegal Castle is. The Church of Ireland in Donegal also stands beside it with their stone facades, it gives the feeling that one is back in medieval times. However, there is yet another medieval looking structure. This one is beside the Church of Ireland, and it is a pub. The Olde Castle Bar sits at the corner along a major street in Donegal town. It is also looking like an old structure, however, I could not confirm whether the building itself is old or it was just made to look old. Either way it is nice to look at. It even has little signs which hand outside the building walls.
There were a few patrons in the pub and I really wanted to go inside just to take a look, but it would be embarrassing if we weren’t customers. I could imagine that it would be nice place to eat at with such designs. However, The Olde Castle Bar seems to be the only one which has this stone design. It would be cool to see all the buildings here have that kind of design as it would really transport you to a different time. Maybe that might be a good idea for a tourist attraction.
