The Jewel Changi Airport is a newer landmark in Singapore that is built right because the Singapore Changi Airport. I think this is a great idea since passengers would not need to travel far to do some shopping. It is especially great for departing passengers who need to do some last minute shopping or last minute eating before they fly. Much of the structure is a glass dome which is composed of multiple triangular components. These triangles all form the dome giving it a jewel like appearance. The Jewel Changi Airport promises to not just be another shopping mall but it is a destination onto itself.
At the heart of the Jewel Changi Airport is the hard to miss indoor waterfall. It is called the Jewel Rain Vortex and it is dubbed as the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. It is funny since I could have sworn that I only recently visited the tallest indoor waterfall just a few days ago at the Gardens by the Bay. Anyway, this is not the first time I have seen this type of water feature in Singapore. The Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City Mall is dubbed the largest water fountain in the world. It is hard to keep track of these things but all of them certainly look impressive. Like the Fountain of Wealth at Suntec, the Jewel Rain Vortex pours water down. Here, the water pours down to the central area of the Jewel thereby forming the waterfall. There are several viewing areas for the waterfall giving you different angles to choose from. Additionally, the mall is also filled with greenery making it more liek a garden than just a mere mall.
