I wasn’t really expecting the Berlayer Creek Mangrove Trail to be long, but I was still surprised to see how quickly it ended. It starts from the Labrador Park MRT Station and makes its way along the Berlayer Creek and finally out to Keppel Harbour. This is where the Berlayer Creek meets the sea and technically marks the end of the Berlayer Creek Mangrove Trail. However, the walking trail doesn’t end there. I was delighted to see that it continues on following the coast. There is another elevated walkway here which goes over the shallow coast and makes its way to Keppel Marina.

I have never been to this part of Singapore before, so I was glad to be able to visit someplace which I have never been to. The sun it high out but I think I managed to adjust to the heat and humidity that it doesn’t really bother me that much. The sun also gives the sea a beautiful turquoise color – something which I don’t expect in the waters around Singapore. With all the shipping that goes through and around the island, even though the water may be clean, there is a lot of silt that gets kicked up so you seldom get to see these colors. Maybe if there isn’t a lot of water traffic, you would be able to see these colors on a good day.
