The Flower Dome at the Gardens by the Bay is a delightful and pleasant place to be in. Sure there were lots of plants and flowers in the huge glass dome but it was wholly air-conditioned and it was a relief for all the visitors. The gardens within the dome itself are well done as well. There are various habitats on exhibit here so you get to see some plants that you won’t normally see in Singapore. Apart from the various habitats which I believe are permanent, there are also themed exhibits which will be on display at the center of the dome every now and then.
When I visited the gardens, it was just past the Lunar New Year and I my friend was raving about the Lunar New Year themed exhibits at the Flower Dome. However, I didn’t see much of the exhibit. In fact, I can’t even be sure of the ones which I did see. It seems that the next theme is already being setup and from what I can see, it seems to be Japan related. They have a traditional Japanese red gate set up with a facade of a traditional Japanese house. At lot of the exhibit was still under construction, so it was difficult to know what else I was missing. It is nice to see that they have stuff lined up to keep things fresh.
