I walked to the western end of the old town of Salzburg and found out that it was much quieter. There were still a lot of shops there and some heritage places. Ultimately, it was too quiet that I head back to the center. I was sure that there are still places that I have yet to visit. It wasn’t hard to find these places since almost every church you would find here would be historical. This is the same with the Franciscan Church in Salzburg. This church curiously doesn’t have a name and it is just known as a Franciscan Church. I don’t think I have seen any church like this since most churches I know would have a name of a saint attached to it.
The Franciscan Church in Salzburg is one of the oldest churches in the city. This is even older than the nearby cathedral with this one completed in the year 1498. The church has a very tall tower which can be easily seen from far away. It can be a little difficult to do this within the city since there are a lot of narrow streets which makes it difficult to see other buildings even if you are nearby. As the name implies, this was one is managed by the Franciscans and it is one of the most beautiful churches in the city. It may be a little intimidating to enter the church since the door was closed at the time but it seems it was still open for visits.
