I understand the significance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His birthplace in the city of Salzburg is now a museum and I was visiting it if only to see how he lived back then. Honestly, it has been a bit of a let down. Apart from the kitchen which was a recreation of how it was back then. Most of the rooms open for visit here were all showing various items related to Mozart. There were letters from him. There was sheet music written by him. There were even various merchandise bearing his image. I thought it was interesting to see items like that which date back to the Holy Roman Empire.

When visiting the birthplace, be prepared for a lot of reading. A lot of the story of Mozarts life is told via text. I know it is not easy to just show someone’s life but I think there would be more impact if they showed things like the table he used when composing. Or the bed he slept on when he was a child. These things are admittedly hard to preserve especially if there wars. Just know that a lot of the his life story will be in written from. It is still fascinating to know more about the man behind Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was fascinating that he was more than just the greatest composer the world has ever known.
