It was a long day, considering that it was actually quite short since it was winter and days are literally shorter. I took a train from the city of Innsbruck and went to my final stop of this trip which is Salzburg. Salzburg is a historic city but probably made even more famous by its residents. I visited several important monuments which included a cathedral, a palace and a fortress and they were all in roughly the same location. I don’t know if there are any other places like that in the world. I think this was one of the reasons what the Historic Center of the City of Salzburg was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Earlier in the day, I tried to check in to my hotel for the next few days but it seems that I arrived a bit too early and I had to drop my bags with them while I go out and have fun. It was the end of the day now and it was finally time to check in. I picked the Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg. I have only once been in a Best Western Hotel and it was in the United States and it was quite old. This one in Salzburg seems to be in a much better condition. The interiors of the hotel appear to be dated but it doesn’t really matter much to me as long as it is clean and comfortable.
I was surprised when I was given a free upgrade for no reason, of course I will take an upgrade any time of the day. I am so glad they did that when I saw how large the room was. The room was very spacious though it still has only one bed. I am not sure what the intention of having a room this big but only one bed is. The bathroom was also spacious but like the rest of the room, the design is quite dated. There are several bus stop around the hotel and it was convenient for me to get to the city center from here. This was actually the main reason why I picked this place. I ended up spending several nights here in the Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg hotel and it was very comfortable. I will not hesitate to stay here the next time I visit this lovely city.
