I was quickly moving through the Salzburg Residenz because the rooms have started to look like each other. Not to say that they don’t look nice but this happens after you have walked through several of these impressive looking rooms. It is hard to imagine that the archbishop would have been able to use all of these rooms, though I know that a lot of them have dedicated uses. I passed through what is the art gallery of the palace before suddenly finding myself outside the palace. The tour actually takes visitors out to a terrace which overlooks one of the squares called the Residenzplatz.
It seems that this path connects the palace to the church which is actually just nearby. I guess this makes sense since this is where the archbishop lives in the first place. The connection is actually a bridge which connects the two buildings. Along the way, visitors can admire the Residenzplatz which, at the time, was occupied by a Christmas Market. There are actually three squares in this area. All of them occupied by Christmas Markets. I think it would be nice to be here at night, but I don’t think it is possible to be up here without a ticket to the Salzburg Residenz.
