Rooms of the Salzburg Residenz

The Salzburg Resdienz was officially the archbishop’s palace. This was the time when archbishops were treated more like royalty. Though it wasn’t initially this large, over the years the residence would be expanded to how it is now. Eventually when Salzburg became non-secular, it was used as the residence of the Emperor of Austria. After all, what emperor wouldn’t do that with this kind of structure. Unlike other European palaces, the Salzburg Residenz have a more uniform design and I think that is something I like about this place.

Having nice designs is good and all that, but I think it can be taken too far as well. This doesn’t seem to be the case here in the residence. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the fact that it was an archbishop who used the palace for most of the time but at least the general aesthetic of the palace was maintained for the most part. At this point, I was already just going through the motions of the palace. At lot of the rooms already looked similar so I was just making my way through the entire tourist route. I think this isn’t as large as other palaces I have been to, so I think I can get out of here fast enough.
