Ultimately, there wasn’t really much to do up the Hefelekarspitze, which is peak of the Nordkette mountains just north of Innsbruck. The view is fantastic but since I wasn’t doing any sports, all I can do is just look at the wonderful view. I did a tiny bit of climbing but it was difficult in the deep, but still slippery, snow. I hung around the top to admire the view and head back down. There are a number of trails to follow here but I don’t think it would be wise to do it in the snow. In the summer, there won’t be any snow and the trails will be easy to follow. I would like to see Hefelekarspitze in the summer but I suspect there would be a lot of people here too.
After I got a little snack at the restaurant at the Top of Innsbruck at the same time appreciate the view from the restaurant before heading to the funicular station. At this point in the day, people weren’t rushing to go down the mountain here so there was plenty of room in the car. I managed to take photos from the funicular where I wasn’t able to before. I am glad that the weather was so good that day and there was hardly any wind even on top of the mountain which came as a surprise to me. Wind won’t be very good for a funicular as well or I would have lost my snack on the way down.
