I finally made it to the Hafelekar station at the top of Innsbruck. By this time in the morning, there were already people on top but it wasn’t crowded at all. There wasn’t really much for me to do there considering I only have my camera with me as well as wearing running shoes. Although I didn’t have any plans on doing any hiking here, I was determined to at least climb to the stop of the nearby hill. This proved to be more difficult than I expected. The hill wasn’t that tall but it was covered by snow which is also starting to melt in the morning sun, making it very slippery.
I climbed and clawed my way to the top. Along the way, there would be people who would help me get to a better path up the hill. I managed to avoid slipping back down and reach the top. I was relishing the view of the city of Innsbruck below me. I know this is nothing compared to a conquering Mount Everest but this is probably the closest I would get to experiencing something like that. The sun was directly in front of me which made it difficult to take photos. I guess it is really like this this time of the year. There is a cross here at the summit. It is apparently quite common to see structures like these on top of popular peaks. Looking around the nearby peaks, I couldn’t see any crosses. Hafelekarspitze isn’t the tallest peak here but I suppose it is the most accessible one in the area. I spent the rest of the time just hanging out at the peak. It wasn’t cold, so I didn’t feel any need to leave the peak just yet.
