I spent most of the afternoon walking around the old town of Innsbruck. It was great. The old town was well preserved and also very lively because of the Christmas markets. Although there were a lot of people in the old town, somehow it didn’t feel crowded. I guess it helps that they spread out the Christmas markets so people won’t be concentrated all in one place. I know I still have several important places left to visit in the old town but for now, I needed to head back to the Meininger Hotel Innsbruck Zentrum to properly check in. I dropped my backpack at the hotel as soon as I arrived in Innsbruck, but they didn’t have an available room yet since I arrived at little early. I was asked to leave the bags in the basement where there is a luggage storage area where I was met by a huge crowd of Spanish speaking students who I guess were one some kind of trip.

Anyway, I got my bag and went to my room which was on the ground floor. I was a little worried about getting the ground floor because of possible noise from the outside but that didn’t turn out to be an issue. My room was small but still enough for me. Unfortunately, the only view I have of the outside is that of the neighboring building. It can get bright when there are vehicles coming so be aware if you end up getting this side of the hotel.

The bathroom was quite spacious. It has some accessibility options here which probably explains why it is on the ground floor, but I don’t know if this is the case for all suites. The bathroom is very clean though I had to figure out how to use the hot water. I stayed here in Meininger Hotel Innsbruck Zentrum for two nights and I thought that the location of the hotel was good enough. It wasn’t exactly at the old town. There is about a fifteen minute walk from the old town to the hotel but I think that is perfect for me. I would imagine that if it were any closer it would have gotten quite noisy and I wouldn’t have enjoyed my stay. They also have included breakfast here which is great if you don’t want to have to worry about what to eat in the morning.
