When I first arrived at the beautiful village of Hallstatt, I was dropped at the main bus station which is just at the end of the village. I was surprised to see that there is a major viewpoint here at the bus station and it seems like everyone is there. I actually did my research and I realized that this view of Hallstatt didn’t seem to be the one I saw online. Sure, there is the church which is usually part of the picture but the picture seemed to be wrong. I realized that there must be another viewpoint on the other side of the village.
The village isn’t large by any means. Visitors can traverse the village in fifteen minutes. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything to see here. On the other end of the village is what I would consider the best view point of the village. The point gives a closer view of the village compared to the other one. No wonder this is where the postcard photo of Hallstatt is taken. There were people at this view point but not as much as the other one. I wonder if they just don’t know about this one. Either way, it was easy enough to get a spot here to get photos. After all, you can only take so many photos of this view. I feel envious of the people who live here but at the same time I don’t. It is great to be able to wake up to such a beautiful view but at the same time, there will be hundreds, if not, thousands of tourists who will be there to take part in that view.
