Viewing Platform at Salzwelten Hallstatter

I arrived at Salzwelten Hallstatt the previous night and within a very short amount of time, I was able to see most of the village. What I didn’t get to see was what was above the village. While I was walking around the previous night, I noticed that there was a light high above the village. It was so high up that I can’t tell what it was, all I know was that there is a light and there is something up there. I didn’t know that there was a whole salt mine there until I went up the following morning. The Salzwelten Hallstatt is a seven thousand year old salt mine which sits high above the village of Hallstatt. The light that I was seeing the previous night was most probably from the viewing platform.

The viewing platform gives you what is probably the most beautiful view of the village of Hallstatt. Actually, that might not be true, you can see most of the surrounding area especially the Hallstatter See. The village of Hallstatt will too far below to appreciate. By this time in the morning, the clouds below have already dissipated and I can see everything below. From the viewing platform, I can also see the areas that are illuminated by the sun. Unfortunately, the village doesn’t get much sun in the winter so my photos are reduced to just gray images. I don’t know if I would like to come here in the summer when viewing conditions will be much better, I know for sure that there will be way more people here than there are already now.
