I managed to check into Gasthof Simony Hallstatt where I will be staying for a couple of nights. I guess gone are the days that I would zip from one place to another, or maybe it is just because that I didn’t plan my trip well enough that I needed to spend two nights here. I spent most of the day traveling to Hallstatt and the first day was wasted on that. Anyway, it doesn’t seem that Hallstatt is the worst place in the world to stay. In fact, not too many people actually stay here, most are just day trippers from Salzburg. I hope that means that I would have Hallstatt all to myself in the morning.
I realized that Gasthof Simony Hallstatt was right at the village square. It is a square surrounded by charming buildings and as it is common these days, it is also surrounded by bars and restaurants. Fortunately, it seems that these establishments are actually very pleasant to be in. They don’t have loud blaring music. I don’t think they can do that or the entire village will be after them. It was starting to get dark but it wasn’t dinner time yet. However, the lights have started to turn on here and it makes for a very pretty sight. I notice how much quieter it has become now. I guess most of the day trippers have already left. This leaves only the residents and the overnighters here.
