I was going through my leave balance at work and I realized that I still have quite a bit of leaves left to use. It was approaching end of the year and I don’t want to have too many to leave for the next years lest I might lose them. I thought about going on a quick break just before Christmas and started looking for a place to go to. I thought about going to Munich area in Germany but I went to Germany the previous year and I wanted to visit a new place. What about next door Austria? I have never been there and it should also have interesting places to see as well.
I decided that I would go to visit the western part of Austria which seems to be quite scenic. I know that I won’t be able to visit too many UNESCO sites this trip but at least I would be able to see beautiful places. I took a flight to the Austrian city of Salzburg and arrived past ten in the morning. I will not be staying in Salzburg yet, that will happen at the end of the trip, instead I will need to continue on to where I intend to spend the night. I barely got any sleep the previous night and I was already very tired from the trip. I decided against renting a car to get there since the transport system in Austria seems to be quite good. Hopefully, I won’t spend too much time getting lost so I will be able to arrive there before it gets dark.
