It was my last full day in Istanbul and I was essentially randomly going to places. I managed to get on a ferry from Eminonu to Kadikoy and got to experience at least a part of the Bosphorus Strait. I got to see the city of Istanbul from a different angle. It was a relaxing trip and although it was still warm, the sky was overcast so it wasn’t as hot as most of my stay here. I got back to Eminonu and I head to the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul. I have been here previously and only had a look at what they have here. This time I would need to get some stuff for myself to bring back with me.
Like a lot of Middle Eastern countries, Türkiye is huge on spices. The Grand Bazaar has a lot of shops which sell all sorts of spices. You can see shops displaying very colorful heaps of spices right in front of the store. I don’t think they will spoil but it still bothers me that these are displayed out in the open exposed to everything. Ultimately, I ended up at some shop with an overly friendly owner. Yes, you know that type. I got myself some selection of dried tea and he was pushing me to get more until I insisted I don’t want anymore. I have a feeling that I didn’t get that great of a deal but I really don’t want to know.
