Taking the Ferry at Eminonu

Departing the Eminonu Ferry Terminal

I decided that I would spend the rest of the day just chilling in Istanbul. It was my last day here and I would be flying out the following day. I didn’t want to be running around all over the city to take photos so I thought that it would be a great to experience a boat ride one of the city’s largest natural landmarks – the Bosphorus Strait. You can see tours being offered to tourists to cruise on a a boat on the Bosphorus Strait. The strait is the one which divides the city of Istanbul and the country into a European side on the west and the Asian side on the east. The strait is also valued a lot by the rulers of the empire that a new sultan’s palace was built along the shores of the Bosphorus.

I will not be doing a full blown tour of the Bosphorus but I would be doing a mini version of it just using the already existing ferry service. There is the Eminonu ferry terminal near my hotel and it was easy enough to figure out. Just tell them where you want to go and you will get a ticket. The ticket wasn’t expensive so I thought it was worth trying out. There are ferries which go to various places along the strait so I just randomly picked on. If I go nowhere, I can always ride the same ferry back to Eminonu, right?
