Tophane Park is host to the resting places of the first two Ottoman rulers. Bursa itself is the birthplace of the Ottoman empire. There are numerous structures in the old city which are related to that period of history. For this reason, the city of Bursa was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. This, along with the Ottoman village of Cumalikizik, makes up one listing. Tophane Park is a pleasant park to visit. Additionally, you get to pay homage to the founders of the Ottoman empire. The tombs are open to visitors so it is worth a look. That is not all there is to see here in the park.
At the furthest end of the park is a clock tower. Clock towers seem to be very common here. While this one is not as old as the nearby mausoleums, it is still more than a hundred years old. This is actually the second clock tower built on this site as the previous one was destroyed in a war. The clock tower occupies a prominent position not just in the park but the hill as a whole. It was huge that people from the city would be able to see the time but the tower itself should be visible from below.
