We have finally arrived at our first stop in our island hopping tour of Boracay. Technically, Puka Beach is not a separate island, but it might as well be. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious way to get here from the main beach. The easiest way to get here would be through the ubiquitous motorized outrigger canoes. I don’t know if it is possible to just come here without an island hopping tour. I don’t suppose they would stop you if you hire a boat and come here for the day. The beach here is smaller than the main beach at Boracay. But you can also tell that there are also less people here.
The beach gets its name from the puka shells that are found on the beach. The sand here appears to be mostly from shells and they are nowhere near as fine as you would see on the main beach. Walking on the beach might not be the most pleasant since the crushed shells here vary in sizes. If you have sensitive feet then you might have a hard time here. There are absolutely no establishments here so you better have brought your snacks with you. It is still very worth a visit here just to see the blue green waters of the beach as well as the brilliantly white sand here. Swimming is great here and you will most likely be given a lot of time here to swim.
