I finally managed to get in the Wedding Tower at Mathildenhöhe. When I first arrived here, there was a wedding in progress and obviously, I won’t be able to visit the Wedding Tower as much as I would like. I have been here a couple of hours and the wedding is finally over. Rose petals are on the ground and guests are already drinking. The wedding tower is also accessible now. There are still people around but at least there is no ceremony that I would interrupt if I was going in to take photos. I managed to open the very heavy door of the Wedding Tower and saw that it wasn’t that spacious inside.

The ground floor is occupied primarily by a shop selling tickets and some stuff about the tower. I was told that access to the tower isn’t allow that time. I didn’t bother asking why, probably because I was already numb not from the cold weather but from getting told that the place is closed. However, one of the most important things to see at the wedding tower is fortunately, in plain sight. The lady at the shop pointed me to the mosaics on the wall of the tower. There is one above the door which depicts an angel. The angel is on a pedestal with the names Ernst Ludwig and Eleonore on it. On the opposite side. There another mosaic this time with a male and female angels kissing. Maybe this is because this is a wedding tower. Apart from that the rest of the tower is off limits to me. It would have been nice to climb to the top and see the entire park though.
