I came to Frankfurt thinking that it is an ultramodern metropolis but that only partially true. The city has managed to restore a lot of the older structures which are mainly concentrated in the old town area of the Frankfurt. It is a short distance away from the current financial center. I would like to think that the old town was the old financial center until they decided to build a new one not too far away. I would be expecting a lot of walking here since these places tend to be right next to each other.
Not soon after I left the new financial center than I started seeing the old buildings of Frankfurt. Now, I was just walking through the city and I know next to nothing about these places. I can tell that the designs of the buildings are old. There is even a nicely decorated overhead bridge which connects two buildings. It doesn’t seem like these places are tourist attractions, in fact, the general area here didn’t feel very nice. I certainly wouldn’t want to be walking here at night, but who knows, if I get to know the area more, I would be more confident about walking here.
