I left the financial center of Frankfurt to visit the city of Speyer. I thought to leave early because I was intending to visit at least three UNESCO World Heritage sites. While they are not right next to each other, they are still within commuting distance from each other. This is made even better by the very good connectivity the cities have with each other. When I visited Speyer, it turned out that there were two UNESCO sites here. It was good because I managed to hit two birds with one stone. That sort of relieves me from the pressure of needing to visit three places in a day. While I still intended to go to another two cities, I could potentially leave one out if I don’t have enough time.
I was glad that I arrived early enough in the morning in Speyer, this gave me enough time to visit the two UNESCO sites here. Although I ended up spending more time in Speyer than I expected I think it was still worth it. I decided to move on to the next place and I started walking back to the train station. It was still below freezing here and it doesn’t look like it will go above freezing today. At least the walking would help keep me warm while I make my way back to the train station.
