I was pleased at having been able to visit the Trier Amphitheater. It is one of the many ancient Roman ruins that are present in the city of Trier. The imperial city of Trier is home to several of these structures. The amphitheater and the baths are staples of major Roman cities and Trier has both of them. I decided to head back to the city center where I believe I still have to see one more structure. However, getting from one place to another here in Trier on foot is not a pleasant experience in the winter. I have two backpacks with me and it was starting to get heavy.
I eventually found a bus stop near the amphitheater and waited for a bus which might take me to the city center. I specifically wanted to go to the basilica in the city center. Fortunately, there was a route map and I figured out which buses I can take. The driver understands English but can’t speak much. We were still able to communicate at at least where I need to get off. I was also watching out on Google Maps to make sure that I knew when it would be time to get off. It wasn’t a long ride but it was a very welcome one since I didn’t have to walk all the way there in the freezing cold.
