I was lazily walking back to the Augustusburg Palace after a hasty visit to the Falkenlust Hunting Lodge which happened to be closed for the season. By this time, the sun was starting to set. Although, this is my first time visiting the town of Brühl, I knew how to get back to the train station. There is after all only one way to get back there from Falkenlust. I do have to go through a small forest which was fortunately easy to navigate. By this time, I was in no hurry to get back any more and I have time to appreciate the small forest.
Apart from the trees that you would see in a forest. There are also small ponds here. At the time of my visit, it was close to freezing and I can see that the water of the pond has starting to freeze. It seldom gets freezing where I live and I was curious to see this phenomenon. I’d like to believe that the forest is actually part of the who Augustusburg and Falkenlust complex. After all, the hunting lodge would make sense if they have a nearby forest to do their hunting in. I know, the hunting lodge was primarily for hunting wild birds but I think that the forest also helps with the hunting activity.
