I decided to head back to the train station after getting my photos at the Falkenlust Hunting Lodge. It happened to be closed for the season so there was little reason for me to linger there. It was a shame since I managed to make it all the way here only to find out that it is not open. Since it is closed, I thought that I didn’t really have a reason to hurry back anymore. If Falkenlust was closed for the season, the Augustusburg Palace would most likely also be closed but I knew that I can approach the structure anytime so I think I should be able to take my time.
By this time, the sun was starting to set. It was already late afternoon but in the winter the sun sets earlier. Fortunately, the skies were clear and it gave me brilliant lighting for the walk back to the train station. I can see why most of the people I see here are just out for a walk. There are several trails that connect to the Falkenlust and I don’t know where the others go. I just needed to get back to the train station. The path actually goes under the railroad tracks so you won’t have silly accidents because people cross the railroad. It also seemed to be a busy track since I saw several trains pass through as I was making my way back.
