I discovered that the Aachen City Hall is also the home of replicas of the Imperial Regalia which are item related to the ruler of the Holy Roman Empire. I think that is only proper that these items are put on display here in Aachen which was host to more than thirty imperial coronations over the centuries. As you can imagine the imperial coronation is a very festive affair and it is usually accompanied by a banquet here in this very building. For a celebration that important, it is also worth noting that the venue should be presentable as well.
Apparently, there are other rooms here in the building. I actually passed them by in my rush to go upstairs. It didn’t appear that there was anything noteworthy below. There are a few smaller halls below so I thought I might as well visit. The peace hall is the first hall. One would immediately see the paintings of important people that adorn the walls of this hall. I have no idea who these people are but it seems that they are important enough to have their painting hung here.
