I was quite disappointed at not being able to explore the Köln Cathedral. It was Sunday and naturally, there were a lot of Sunday celebrations at the cathedral, so the time for visitors to go in the cathedral was limited. I understand that but at the same time I was disappointed at not being able to see more of the cathedral. I would be staying in Köln for the next few days, hopefully, I would have a chance to go in further than just the entrance. In the meantime, the immediate area of the cathedral is abuzz with activity. There is the Christmas market right beside the cathedral.
Earlier, as the train was pulling into the Köln central train station, I noticed some interesting places nearby. I kept note of these places to make sure I get to visit when I have time. Behind the Köln Cathedral, there is a rather modern looking structure. Honestly, it looks a little out of place beside the centuries old Köln Cathedral. The structure in question is the Museum Ludwig. It is a museum for modern art and somehow I feel that it doesn’t match with the ancient cathedral beside it. The museum still seems to be a popular destination since I see quite a few people go in the building. Maybe I should take a look.
