It seems that I am getting into the habit of joining other families for out of town trips. This time, it is not a trip to Dublin. There is a Christmas experience that the parents would like the kids to experience and we need to go to Dublin to have that. It isn’t actually in Dublin but in nearby Wicklow but we can deal with that easily. The plan was to have everyone stay in the same place but it seems that because it was Thanksgiving weekend, a lot of the hotels were booked up and Dublin hotels tend to be expensive. While my friends managed to find a place for themselves where they ended up staying in the same place, I ended up having to look for a separate place because it is all booked up, not to mention expensive.
I ended up finding this place in in Tallaght which is outside the Dublin city center. It is a good twenty five minute drive out to the Maldron Hotel in Tallaght from where everyone is so I knew that we need to plan well so as to not waste people’s time. The Maldron Hotel Tallaght was a pleasant place to stay in. The room was actually larger than I anticipated and certainly more than I need but I shouldn’t be complaining. It has a large and clean room, with bed of course. I didn’t have much to complain about the hotel apart from it’s distance from the city center but that is why it is more affordable compared to the others. I know that the Tallaght area doesn’t exactly have the best reputation but it is along a large road beside the Tallaght Stadium and I thought that it was very safe at least in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. I still think that it is worth staying here since Dublin isn’t really that far away anyway. I have the space and there is plenty of parking underground.
