I had a lot more fun with the boat tour of the Algarve Region than I expected. I don’t normally join these organized tours but I joined this one because it is with friends. We followed the amazing coastline of the Algarve where we were shown numerous beaches and cliffs which this region is known for. One of the highlights is the Benagil Cave which a large cavern carved out by the sea complete with natural skylight. I think it is an amazing place to see and it is a must for visitors to this region.
We were also brought further out to see to watch dolphin out in the wild. This was a new experience for me and I thought it was a magical experience. Sure, we don’t get to swim with the dolphin, we didn’t even get to pet them since they are wild after all but just watching them evokes some kind of peace within you and just wants you to take care of these animals. We actually spent quite a bit of time dolphin watching with the boat constantly, keeping up with the dolphin. They don’t seem to be bothered by the boats that much, so I think that was okay.
Eventually, it was time to end the tour. Just before we approached the Albufeira Marina, we were told that we still have a bit of time and maybe some visitors would be interested to swim in the sea. It didn’t seem like any of us were interested in doing that so our boat just head straight to the marina. I still thought that it was nice that they considered some time for swimming. I would be good for people who would like that. We eventually head back to the marina and I thought it was a very good trip. We didn’t choose the package with picnic on the beach but I think it wouldn’t have been worth it since the food might not be to everyone’s taste.
