When we were planning for this school holiday trip to Algarve in Portugal, I already accepted that I won’t get my way here and it is more for the kids to enjoy their school break. I did have one selfish request and that is that we all go to Lagos which is about forty minutes drive from Albufeira where were staying. I got that wish but it turns out that not everyone would be able to go to where the nice places are. Because of logistics, there weren’t enough vehicles to bring us there. Disappointed, I ended up taking the car and just driving there myself. It was not far at all. The most important place to see here is the Ponta da Piedade.
The Ponta da Piedade is at the southern tip of Lagos and you can tell by the number of vehicles parked here just how popular this place is. It was tough to find parking and I had to park a bit further back to find one. What is important is that I am here. There are several viewpoints to visit in the area and they weren’t that well sign posted. I would only know about them when I would reach a fork and it would point to one of the view points. I would have preferred that there were signs further back so visitors would know that there is something interesting there.
