It looks like at least I got to do something I wanted to do on this trip to Algarve in Portugal and I get to drag everyone with me. We booked a private van and a separate rental car to get us to the city of Lagos which is west of Albufeira. It was an enjoyable drive which was basically through open highway. I was reminded of how it is to drive here in Portugal’s tollways because they are mostly electronic tolls and the device to register tolls keeps beeping every few kilometers, not unlike a taxi meter. We eventually got there and left the car at an underground car park.
However, we needed to walk back to the Lagos Marina which apparently is where the van driver dropped the rest of our group at. It was no boring walk because we got to walk along the promenade which leads to the marina. There is a channel that boats would use to get in and out of the marina and the promenade was built right beside it, giving visitors a nice view while walking here. The sky was amazingly clear and this gives the water an amazing blue color. It was getting a bit hot since it was already noon but I think there is a bit to go since the promenade is a bit long.
