I probably should have known but the grounds of Harvard University are huge. It was built in the outskirts of the city of Boston, in Cambridge, over time this became a major center in its own right. It is to be expected since schools tend to have a lot of people in and around them. This is even more true with Harvard because of how prestigious the university is. Despite its reputation has one of the best universities in the world, the grounds of the university are actually open for anyone to enter.
I was walking around the Harvard University grounds unsuccessfully pretending to belong here. The university is actually spread out over a large area in Cambridge and there is a lot of open space here considering that it is in the middle of a city. It was almost like you are walking in a park. I was pleased to see that much of this open space was preserved, though I wouldn’t have any idea how much more space there was before. Harvard Yard is one of these major open areas in the university. It is flanked by several halls, all of which have various purposes. Harvard Yard has generous shade here in the form of trees. I seem to be the only one just standing around looking around, everyone else seems to be going somewhere.
